I am a PhD candidate at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), where I work on developing predictive adaptive optics (AO) control algorithms for free space optical communication (FSO) feederlinks. My research aims to optimize satellite communication performance under strong turbulence scenarios, which pose significant challenges for FSO systems.I have a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Porto, where I also completed my master's thesis on AO control techniques for FSO at DLR. As part of my PhD project, I have synthesized Linear Quadratic Gaussian Regulators with Kalman Filtering for phase prediction, and participated in several measurement campaigns involving AO systems. I have also led AO operation from the Optical Ground Station at the Institute for Communication and Navigation during measurement campaigns with satellite links. I am passionate about space technologies and motivated to contribute to the advancement of FSO applications.
