After years of full, challenging, enriching, and non-stop mission-based work (and graduate studies), I decided to take a career break to focus on my goals for the next 5+ years and my overall well-being. This past year has been transformative, and I can't wait to share what is next soon. Some of the things I was up to:- I developed two podcasts and launched one of them! One workplace advice and music.- I initiated a research project on intergenerational trauma and its connection to current-day economic policies- I wrote... a lot. Personal essays, current event opinions, business plans... you name it- I took up (and loved) pilates- I continued to serve as Board Member of the Austin Community College Foundation and the City of Austin Rosewood Community Development Corporation- I spent time with friends, made new ones, and cared for a loved one during a health scare- I started working on a business idea ruminating that I can't wait to share more about soon!

The Austin Young Chamber supports the Central Texas business community through initiatives and efforts designed to build and strengthen a diverse young professional workforce. With 18-44-year-olds making up 40% of the Austin population, I prioritized listening to the needs of Austin's young professionals, building economic opportunities for all, and carving a seat at the table where key decisions are made. After almost 15 years of impact, the board decided to undergo overdue restructuring and scale back on its budget and programming. I decided to take a career break, rest, and chart my next career chapter. It was a joy to build relationships with members and community leaders and create connections among sectors for a more economically prosperous and equitable Central Texas. Accomplishments include: - Rewrote partnership proposals and redesigned value proposition resulting in 8 new partnerships, renewed 15+ existing partners, an increase of funding by over 120%, and expansion of programming for members- Developed and Executed a Job and Resource Fair with 14 corporate, nonprofit, and government partners, featured in local news- Organized free bilingual Latina Equal Pay Day event with council member and community leader - Developed and Implemented operational and internal communication systems for staff, board of directors, and volunteers with project management tools, leadership retreats, and annual work plans- Managed 2 staff members and facilitated staff retreats, and team policies to develop and empower personal development

Promoted January 2020 The Boston Women's Workforce Council is a public-private partnership between the Mayor and the Boston business community dedicated to closing the gender wage gap. In January 2020, I was asked to serve as Interim Executive Director. During a time of leadership transition and navigating a global public health crisis, I was honored to assist the organization land safely and securely before I departed for my graduate studies.Accomplishments included: - Recruited Marketing Assistant, onboarded new Executive Director - Created online COVID-19 employer resources in collaboration with 260 businesses - Hosted the first virtual member event on advancing women of color in the workplace - Managed budget, met regularly with co-chairs to discuss strategic plan and leadership transition

As a Marketing and Communications Manager, I implemented a rebranding strategy, revamped the organization's website, produced 5 member events, and added one community event, expanding our reach to millennial women of color audiences.Accomplishments Include: - Created 4 digital and print business profiles resulting highest page views and featured in the Boston Globe- Coordinated 5 quarterly events for over 260 corporate members - Revamped and maintained brand, newsletter, and website content resulting in a web traffic increase of 30%- Implemented social media strategy and increased overall following and engagement by 26%- Developed first job board on the new website that is still in use today

As Manager of Marketing and Communications, I managed the organization's brand strategy and media relations and developed digital campaigns for public policy initiatives to increase visibility and funding for youth development programs.Accomplishments Include:- Developed and coordinated first digital advocacy campaign for a state budget line item and My Brother's Keeper-Boston leading to a 50% overall line item increase and being selected as Obama Foundation grantee- Developed press releases and media advisories for events resulting in new coverage with Spanish-speaking media- Managed 5 vendors, consultants, and AmeriCorps Public Awareness fellow- Created internal event and database project management process to enhance interdepartmental communication- Established Culture Club, conducted staff climate surveys, planned staff retreats and team-building outings

Upon completion of the Norwegian Entrepreneurship program, I was invited to prolong my term by the Assistant Dean to implement Marketing and Communications strategies for the Executive Leadership Center (ELC). - I liaised between the center, the school's marcom department, external vendors, and faculty members in the Business school to support the development and launch of 3 ad and digital campaigns. - Projects included: web design, copywriting, project management, content curation, and event management.

Seasonal opportunity to coordinate the Norwegian Entrepreneurship Program. Accomplishements include:- I recruited 24 start-ups, and event managed 5 activities with 40+ participants. - I implemented new communications tools and messaging for participants and partners including: videos, flyers, video conferencing, and CRM tools.

Established Communications and Marketing strategy and platforms. Accomplishments include: - Project Managed website redesign, blog content calendar of 30+ topics, research paper edits, and weekly newsletter resulting in 80% more subscribers and a 62% twitter follower increase- Partnered with two local and national organizations and Project Managed education policy event of over 400+ attendees - Co-wrote organization core values and communications plan, internal/external messaging. - Co-founder of a Diversity & Inclusion initiative - Supervised two interns to create blog posts and content for research papers

- Managed cross-collaboration between Marketing, Sales and Engineering departments to develop national and international collateral for product launches, including: 2 monthly case studies, weekly newsletters, live webinars- Project Managed projects with an external marketing agency. - Implemented first social media plan at SXSW Create, with over 80,000 participants

Provided intensive case management and job search assistance services for up to 70 clients internally and externally at partner agency, Caritas of Austin. Tasks included: job skills development, refining resumes and cover letters, and referrals to internal job readiness training classes. In addition, conducted outreach and relationship-building with other community agencies and organizations.

Coordinated events at different client locations by setting up equipment, handing out promotional items, and interacting with radio station listeners and clients for KROX (101X/101.5FM). In addition, I supported the Promotions Director strategizing ways to reach listeners via social media marketing.
