Joana is an architect with over 18 years of experience working on various research, design, and architecture-related projects across several countries. She had the opportunity to work with OMA-Rem Koolhaas, where she developed her interest in research-driven design.In 2008, Joana co-founded CONDITIONS, a Scandinavian Architecture and Urbanism magazine that was shortlisted for the CICA Pierre Vago Journalism Award in 2011. CONDITIONS was a guest curator for the Norwegian contribution to "NORDIC ID" at the III Moscow Architecture Biennale, and was represented in the Venice Biennale in both 2010 and 2012.In 2012, Joana joined Comte Bureau to create a multidisciplinary environment where behavioural sciences and design thinking could merge to develop more scientifically-grounded and human-centered methodologies for Architecture. Today, Comte Bureau is a contributor to shaping new policies, services, products, and spaces in Norway.Joana was also involved in curating, moderating, lecturing and acting as a jury for architecture competitions both nationally and internationally. She also had the privilege of teaching Masters courses in Architecture from 2008 to 2016 and, more recently, Design at The Oslo School of Architecture and Design.
