I am a Portuguese researcher at the Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science (INESC TEC), in the Centre for Telecommunications and Multimedia (CTM) group. My main research interests include optical fiber communication systems, specifically the study of nonlinearity mitigation techniques for multimode fibers, and antenna arrays, namely developing algorithms to synthesize radiation patterns of phased array antennas.In 2012, I completed the Master Course in Electrical and Computer Engineering at FEUP. I specialized in Communications Technology and accomplished the Master's Thesis at INESC TEC, entitled "Rádio Digitalizado sobre Fibra". Part of this work was presented at ICTON 2014 and later published in Optics Express.In 2014, I started my work as a researcher at INESC TEC in the TWave project, a Portuguese project funded by FCT, which revealed promising results that I presented at ICTON 2015 and later published in the Journal of Lightwave Technology. This work was carried out at the Optical and Electronic Technologies (OET) laboratory of INESC TEC.Later, I participated in the European project iBROW. The tasks I performed included the experimental characterization of resonant tunneling diodes (RTDs) oscillators developed in this project. I presented the results from this work at ICTON 2017 and ICTON 2018. More results were published later in journal papers, namely Optics Express and MOTL.From 2020 to 2022, I worked on the STRx project funded by FCT, which aimed to research and develop an electronically guided signal transmission and reception system to function with non-stationary orbit satellites.In 2021, I concluded the MAP-Tele Doctoral Programme in Telecommunications at FEUP. My thesis is entitled "Next Generation Long-Haul Optical Fibre Communications and Optical-Wireless Interfaces", where I explored the concept of phase conjugated twin waves (PCTWs) as a means of overcoming the nonlinear impairments arising in mode-division multiplexed (MDM) systems. Moreover, the performance of RTD oscillators was evaluated experimentally in the transmission of signals employing different modulation formats.Currently, I am an Invited Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of FEUP.
