PEOPLE CENTRIC - SUSTAINABLE - INNOVATIONAs Business development manager for an eco-friendly shade sail company in Queensland, Australia, my role involves overseeing the day-to-day functions that keep the business running smoothly. I coordinate the production, distribution, and installation of shade sails, ensuring that operations align with the company’s commitment to sustainability. This includes managing supply chains to source environmentally friendly materials, optimizing production processes to minimize waste, and ensuring that the final products meet quality and ecological standards.My job also entails liaising with suppliers and manufacturers, implementing cost-effective strategies, and improving operational efficiency. I play a key role in workforce management, from training staff on sustainable practices to ensuring safety and compliance with industry regulations. In addition, I collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to align product offerings with customer demand, particularly focusing on promoting the eco-friendly aspects of our products.Given Australia’s climate and environmental concerns, part of my job includes researching and incorporating innovative, sustainable technologies and materials into our products, such as recycled or biodegradable fabrics. I also focus on delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring that installations are completed to the highest standards and that the company’s eco-friendly ethos is communicated effectively to clients.In summary, my role is a pivotal blend of operational efficiency with environmental responsibility, helping the company provide shade solutions that are both effective and eco-conscious.

This is a bootstrapped start-up I created, and developed over several years. It featured an innovative Brazilian beauty technique: Camouflaging scars and stretch marks. I was involved in each phase of the process of developing the business, from product ideation to sourcing, sales, marketing, branding and client management. This experience has given me a powerful 360 view of what it takes to create and run a start up, and develop and grow a product from scratch through it’s lifecycle.

As a student, I worked with various Swedish companies on their marketing strategies, through their processes of change management, future-proofing organisations and teams. Leading and embracing change, sustainability, predicting and adapting to trends, and facilitating the transitions into digitalised worlds. I participated in an internship at GANT in Stockholm. My work included ideating and strategising actionable, measurable solutions for growth and productivity in the teams and between departments. I collaborated and guided my team to plan, facilitate and lead workshops aimed at supporting the company in developing strategies for updating the company culture.
