I attended the New York School of Interior Design in Manhattan where I received my education in interior design and space planning. For many years I focused on interiors and in 2003, I started designing kitchens and using my interior design knowledge to influence the overall design of the space, color, period style, tile, fabrics, lighting and countertop choices of my projects. I am an active member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association, and held the position of Chapter Representative, and Vice President of Professional Development for the NKBA Westchester Chapter. I attend conferences, seminars and training regularly to keep up to date on regulations, trends, new products, etc. I was awarded first place in the "Small Kitchen Category" in the NKBA sponsered Metropolitian Design Competition where I designed a beautiful kitchen in a horse stable. I have been published in the Winter Issue 2010 of East Coast Home A french country kitchen project I designed was featured in the North Salem House Tour in 2009. Specialties: New construction, renovations; cabinetry for kitchens, baths, media rooms, libraries, offices, etc. I am a dealer for several cabinet manufacturers, both traditional and contemporary.Joan Bigg Design is an Authorized Dealer for Danver/Brown Jordan Outdoor Kitchens and Trex. We design outdoor kitchens, and putting together an outdoor living space having availability of Brown Jordan Outdoor Furniture and Stark Outdoor Rugs.
