After eighteen years at the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, the last 9 as the Director of Education, I started my own private practice and consulting business in the field of nutrition and diabetes education. I use my experiences to provide guidance to help the individual's achieve their personal health goals as well as using a hands on approach to reach customers that use diabetes products or services.Active both locally and nationally in many Diabetes/Nutrition initiatives through professional organizations: American Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists, American Diabetes Association, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Diabetes Practice Group

Provided Diabetes Self Management and Educational Services and Medical Nutrition Therapy to those w/ diabetes along w/ nutrition counseling to those with cancer.-Assisted with reviving a diabetes self-management education program by establishing the use of electronic medical records to capture the necessary documentation to meet American Diabetes Association credentialing requirements.-Implemented a continuous glucose monitoring and insulin pump program using a proprietary, web-based platform to provide patient access to state-of the-art technology

Conducted telephonic education sessions with patients utilizing a cloud based blood glucose management device.-Engaged patients and provided training in the usage of blood glucose monitoring products, enabling the devices to be used to their fullest potential.-Increase product use by 10% by achieving client touchpoint goals.

Provided consulting services for a 78 -bed, long term and skilled nursing facility-Designed and implemented a direct-to-consumer food service delivery system, resulting in food cost savings of 10%, increased resident satisfaction, and decreased food waste-Facilitated the transition from a paper medical records system to the PointClickCare electronic medical record system. Attained nutrition standards of care with zero nutrition service deficiencies found.-Improved menu selection and promoted diversity within the facility by collaborating with the families of Russian and other multi-ethnic patients to provide and increase variety of culturally-based meal options.

Trained patients with pre-diabetes using a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Diabetes Prevention Program-approved curriculum.-Achieved compliance with CDC recognition requirements, enabling reimbursement capacity.

Administered diabetes self-management education and training and medical nutrition therapy to all patients with a diagnosis of type or type 2 diabetes on campus.-Led clinical staff in meeting the standards of care for patients with diabetes in a primary care population and improved Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set parameters in foot care, A1c testing and eye exams.

Provided medical nutrition therapy and diabetes self-management education services to independent physician's practices-Lead group in achieving accreditation by the Association of Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists, enhancing capacity to bill for services.
