About Joan Mitchell

Hi, I’m Joan. My interest in the Customer Journey and in Product Management began nearly 10 years ago and evolved out of many years in various disciplines including Digital Marketing, eCommerce, Project Management, and Customer Success. All these roles have shaped my product management lens – one distinctly characterized by customer empathy, natural curiosity, data and technical understanding, synergistic collaboration, and continuous innovation. I see my unconventional journey as a clutch that has allowed me to blend my various experiences into designing, developing and delivering creative product solutions while forging deeper connections with customers, colleagues, partners and vendors across different levels, teams, and regions thereby setting everyone up for success.My goal is to build a product or solution based on field insights informed by data that addresses pain points for my customers – be they internal or external, enterprise-level or smaller scale. Bringing this holistic perspective into my projects I have been able to: help devise a creative solution that preserved over $12M in annual subscription revenue, achieved $500k in monthly cost savings, and drove 4-11% lift in website conversions, to name a few, for my previous employers.On a more personal level, my natural curiosity extends to being excited about learning and experiencing new things – whether from travel, reading, watching shows, and trying new restaurants. I have been known to strike up conversations with strangers and have had the most delightful and interesting conversations with them. More recently, I have taken an interest in AI and keenly watching all the exciting developments in that space.
