About Joanie Ackermann

After working as an Executive in the Apparel Industry for over 25+ years, I decided to explore a new path, and found Downsizing by Design. This small, but fiercely dedicated and talented team, helps seniors and their adult children with the very complicated and stressful process of downsizing and move planning. After spending the past couple of years supporting my aging mother, and becoming more familiar with the aging community in our area, I realized that I had a personal, true passion for joining this growing industry. Providing meaningful, caring, consumer-centric support has always been my ultimate goal, no matter which industry I have been involved in. This passion for people, sits at the core of who I am.
