Few things are more meaningful than learning. After a 40-year career in broadcasting and non-profit management, I dedicated my next chapter to BeMoved - a dance experience designed for dancers of all shapes, sizes and abilities. It is easy-to-follow, gentle-on-the-body and makes you feel beautiful. I am blessed to teach classes at The Lake Forest Health and Fitness Center, Skokie Park District, Wilmette Park District - Mallinckrodt, YMCA McGaw in Evanston, Northshore Place in Northbrook, Warren Township in Gurnee - and special classes at Lambs Farm and Keshet in Highland Park. I am also certified to teach for Northwestern Memorial Hospital's Parkinson's patients and Arthritis Aqua classes - also at the Lake Forest Health and Fitness Center. And most fulfilling was my seven-month volunteer dance class series at the Cook County Department of Corrections for Women who are incarcerated. Together with Siobhan and Brandon McKinney (Chief O'Neill's) we have hosted several fundraising classes for the Malnati Brain Tumor Institute at NWMH, during my tenure as Co-Chair of the Advisory Committee. Rounding off the things I have always wanted to pursue - is the study of Criminal Justice. I am graduating from Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Criminal Justice (Class of June 2024.) Trust me, returning to school after four decades was tough...(recalling 1978 - "Animal House" at University of Oregon.) This phase of life has been rich with new experiences, academic pursuits, and meeting new friends - along the way. If working at WTTW (PBS) for so many years taught me anything, it was that lifelong learning is precious and infinitely rewarding. Learning - forever and always - is simply the best.
