Our infrastructure needs us as much as we need it. As a reformed environmentalist, I have come to understand this on a visceral level. Our infrastructure, environment, and health rely on excellent relationships at all levels. Excellent relationships and a willingness to confront everything that compromises stability between the three. Following a decade of support and advice to the public sector on infrastructure services and implementation I am shifting my focus to delivery in our private sector. I have seen the gaps in our national capability and capacity, and I am unwilling to see those filled by third party conglomerates. I am intent on levelling up the next (and current) generation on the essential interface between public infrastructure ownership and commercial business management; and I hope to get a few great things built at the same time!We are a country of doers, known for our ingenuity. With the addition of clarity and confidence in our contract delivery, we have the ability to build and maintain a well-oiled infrastructure delivery engine to serve New Zealanders for generations to come.
