Joan is the founder and former director of Atlantic Hearing Care. She sold the business to two of her employees in September of 2022 and retired from active practice in June of 2023. She is a Board Member of the Entheos Audiology Cooperative, a professional organization supporting independent private practices who maintain best practices and provide humanitarian hearing services. She is a member of the Marblehead Harbor Rotary Club and Past President of the Swampscott Rotary Club. She is also the Co-chair of the Health and Community Services Committee for the Swampscott for All Ages Initiative. She is a founding Board Member and current President of the Seaglass Village, a community organization helping older adults remain independent and engaged as they age in their homes. She is a past Board Member of the Massachusetts Academy of Audiology and founding Advisor to the Rotary ElderAct Club of Swampscott and Marblehead. Recognizing a need to help those without the resources for hearing aids, Joan created the North Shore Hearing Foundation in 2017. This non-profit affiliate of Atlantic Hearing Care provides hearing aids and services to income eligible adults and children. Atlantic Hearing Care provides hearing testing, hearing aid sales and service, cochlear implant services, functional hearing assessment, tinnitus support, and wax removal services using an individualized approach. Atlantic creates custom solutions for an individual's unique hearing problems and to help people develop a positive attitude to make the most of their hearing ability. Their daily goal is to make better hearing easy and enjoyable with a mission is to help people participate fully in life through better hearing.
