Passionate for the arts, I have over 15 exciting, creative, and fulfilling years in art museum education, taking on progressively responsible leadership positions and continually fostering a love of life long learning for myself and the community. I'm never bored by what I do and am constantly exhilarated by new challenges to keep learning alive. I have an inquisitive and adventurous spirit and relish in new opportunities for bringing the arts, humanities, and more together to enhance and enliven opportunities to learn. I'm as passionate about being outdoors and breathing in nature as much as I am about exploring and discovering art in museums and galleries. I love the sense of discovery that both offer: the opportunity to enjoy the big picture and both lose yourself and to find focus in the details. I bring this natural curiosity and my years of professional experience together to create innovative and dynamic public programs to foster a sense of fulfillment and enjoyment for others.My leadership style is collaborative and I enjoy working with others and hearing their ideas. I encourage those I work with to think big and to take creative risks. I enjoy working with Museum staff, teachers, artists and other creative non-profits and have created many interactive activities to enhance learning in the museum for students K-12, multi-generational groups and families, individuals with dementia and for the visiting public. I've written and received grants to fund various educational and programming initiatives and I am well acquainted with timely project management, budgeting and evaluation processes.I have experience in engaging artists, both local and national, for presentations, programs and residencies and enjoy seeking out opportunities to collaborate with local college professors and students, offering them platforms to create innovative programs within the Museum galleries. I have successful managed volunteer and internship programs, providing opportunities to learn and experiences that enrich those who participate.I am well-organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. I love taking on new challenges, and discovering new opportunities for improvement that lead to change.
