I was Director of a not-for-profit program that promotes, recruits, refers, and recognizes volunteerism. I found it fulfilling working with the corporate community which led to the recruitment and referral of 1,000-plus volunteers to support over 150 not-for-profit organizations. I secured nearly $100K in donations through corporate partnerships, fund raisers and grants.

I co-managed a school-based program funded by a federal grant with the goal of increasing the number of mentors in the Norwalk School System and to measure its effectiveness. This rewarding position provided me the opportunity to develop partnerships with mentor liaisons from local corporations to generate an increase of mentors in the Norwalk School System from 75 to 200 during the 2005-06 school years. I produced training manuals and merchandising pieces and conducted mentor training. At this time I volunteered as a proud and committed mentor who enjoyed 7 years with my mentee from middle school through high school.

As Media Director, I enjoyed the challenge and excitement of a leadership role that provided the strategic direction of Snapple’s national and local media. My responsibilities included project leader for high profile national media sponsorships. I negotiated and managed local sports media sponsorships. Also, I led creative development for Snapple trade advertising and merchandising materials.From 2003 to 2004 I served as Snapple Beverage Group Media Director for Nantucket Nectors andYoo-hoo brands and as Field Marketing Director. I led the strategic planning process for Nantucket Nectars and Yoo-hoo media which focused on results-driven and retail-specific radio promotions. Also, I produced planning and post evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness the promotions.
