Management of classified and unclassified systems for the department and key stakeholders. Key achievements included progression of international high side communications; successful negotiation of a new MOU and costing model for the highly classified systems with federal, state and territory stakeholders; managing key IT infrastructure procurements including new Data Centre arrangements for high and low side and new communications arrangements for high side; overseeing the successful implementation of the secure gateway for the department and small portfolio agencies; establishing quality implementation plans and strategies for the secondary data centre relocation project. During this time I also championed the implementation of Splunk technology across the department. This technology was used to drive user change particularly in the areas of reducing printing by 70% and removing maximising virtual technologies.

I provided expert advice to the Commission and managed the overall delivery of the Records Management System for the Commission. The main toolsets used were program management, Prince 2 and Agile requirements development to meet the short timeframes of the Commission.Achievements during this secondment included:• Development and endorsement of the Information Management Policy for the Commission• Development of the system guidelines and helpful tips for users• Introduction of a program approach to the development and rollout of the system covering change management, benefits realisation, user engagement and testing, risk management, security management and effective stakeholder engagement throughout the implementation;• Rolling out the system without any outages to users• Introduction of a set of measures that captured the increasing use and take-up of the system;• Introduction of a flexible schedule to meet the Commission’s timeframes• Broad acceptance by the users shortly following the introduction of the system.

I lead a multi-disciplinary team managing classified and unclassified systems and practices, information management, department library, enterprise architecture, records management, ICT help desk, data centre, IT Security, application development and technology management for the department. I was an active member of the Diversity Council in Attorney General's Department and assisted with the establishment of the LGBTI network in the Department. I continue to be also a strong supporter for women in ICT and leadership.

Key appointments included Chair ASNET Advisory Group, Deputy-Chair of Secret Network Owners Committee, Chair Identity Access and Management. I was responsible for the delivery and maintenance of the Department's systems, both low and high side. I implemented a range of initiatives to ensure the effective delivery of projects and BAU activities. This included:• Progression of Enterprise Architecture across the organisation• Introduction of an Information Systems Delivery Committee where all project managers met to discuss key dependencies, risks, issues and the overall progress of the program• Introduction of a Resource Committee which carefully managed the budget and staffing profile for the division• Savings of more than $1.5M through contract savings• Developed the ICT Strategic Plan 2013-2015• Developed the Concept of Operations for the Division

I was seconded from Customs and Border Protection to run the People, ICT, Records Management, Risk, Audit and Governance for AGD. FTE was approximately 180 with wide ranging responsibilities.I provided leadership and oversight to the implementation of a number of reviews across HR and ICT. I provided strategic oversight and project leadership in the delivery of the technical aspects of the People, Property Security Register (PPSR $40M value) which was a key strategic policy reform project for government and the department.

I was appointed to several senior executive positions including National Manager Strategic Intelligence, National Manager Client Engagement and User Services and National Manager Information Technology. I provided leadership and managed change across Finance, Intelligence and Cargo. Of note was my achievement improving the Integrated Cargo System and our relationship with Industry stakeholders in 2005. The Integrated Cargo System was a $220M system servicing more than 30,000 users domestically and internationally. I managed the system and supporting policy with an annual capital budget of $15M and an operating budget of $20M. Key achievements included:• Re-establishing an effective relationship with the Cargo Business Community through the development of a successful Business Continuity Solution that was used by Customs and Industry when the Cargo System was unavailable and fixing high priority system issues affecting cargo flow at the border. • Development of the Time Release Survey for Customs. The survey was developed with a small investment of $250K and highlighted cargo movement bottlenecks across industry and government. The results of the survey shut down a lot of anecdotal commentary around the efficiency and effectiveness of the new cargo system• Rollout of several major system releases to address more than 1,000 incidents following the troubled rollout of the new cargo system• Re-building a resilient and confident team of 300 to support Industry and internal users of the cargo system following a difficult implementation.

Prior to 2006, I managed the financial and travel systems for the Australian Customs Service. As a consultant, I developed and implemented a business continuity framework for the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations in preparation for Y2K planning. I also worked as a business integration manager and project manager on the largest ICT project in the Queensland Government from 1997 to 1998, introducing a new payroll system to regional hospitals.

I spent a decade working as a clinical nurse at Townsville General Hospital and the Department of Veterans Affairs from 1984 to 1994.
