FTE was approximately 180 with wide ranging responsibilities.I provided leadership and oversight to the implementation of a number of reviews across HR and ICT. I provided strategic oversight and project leadership in the delivery of the technical aspects of the People, Property Security Register (PPSR $40M value) which was a key strategic policy reform project for government and the department. -
Several Positions In Customs - It, Finance, Intelligence And CargoAustralian Customs And Border Protection Aug 2006 - Oct 2011Canberra, AustraliaI was appointed to several senior executive positions including National Manager Strategic Intelligence, National Manager Client Engagement and User Services and National Manager Information Technology. I provided leadership and managed change across Finance, Intelligence and Cargo. Of note was my achievement improving the Integrated Cargo System and our relationship with Industry stakeholders in 2005. The Integrated Cargo System was a $220M system servicing more than 30,000 users domestically and internationally. I managed the system and supporting policy with an annual capital budget of $15M and an operating budget of $20M. Key achievements included:• Re-establishing an effective relationship with the Cargo Business Community through the development of a successful Business Continuity Solution that was used by Customs and Industry when the Cargo System was unavailable and fixing high priority system issues affecting cargo flow at the border. • Development of the Time Release Survey for Customs. The survey was developed with a small investment of $250K and highlighted cargo movement bottlenecks across industry and government. The results of the survey shut down a lot of anecdotal commentary around the efficiency and effectiveness of the new cargo system• Rollout of several major system releases to address more than 1,000 incidents following the troubled rollout of the new cargo system• Re-building a resilient and confident team of 300 to support Industry and internal users of the cargo system following a difficult implementation.
