I have gained invaluable experience working for this firm. As one of a team of four I was given the role of overseeing a project through its construction phase. The project based in Teddington is a refurbishment of a four story office block. It has been hands on, dealing with the design team on site and the client. Producing final layout drawings, specifying many different products throughout and submitting planning applications for alterations to the initial scheme.

I gained experience with small scale projects assisting Hayley when she needed extra help. I was in charge of site measurements, cad drawings of existing buildings and further design work and input with renovations being made to the different projects. These projects predominantly consisted of small residential units and apartments.

The duration of my internship with Burmister Architects was 1 year. As it was a very small firm I was given a lot of responsibility and therefore was able to learn an incredible amount proving to be an invaluable experience . Each intern was lucky enough to follow a project from start to finish, mine being a school pavilion. I was involved in all the stages of this projects development; initial design, council drawings, working drawings, physical model building, 3D model building, site visits and site meetings, and loved being able to see the end built result. My technological understanding of how buildings work has greatly improved and I enjoyed learning the role of an Architect within a project. Additionally I was also involved in various other projects throughout the course of the year.

Working at Reberio Architects was my first introduction to the everyday life of an architect. I was tasked with initial design stages of a residential scheme accompanied by basic drawings and presentation to the clients. Site visits gave me a better understanding of the project.
