I served seven years in the United States Air Force where I worked as a Cryptologic Operator with a specialization in the Korean language. I spent the majority of my time stationed in South Korea performing translation duties. Once separated from the military, I was admittedly lost initially when trying to figure out my next steps in life. I have always loved helping others and decided that the mental health world is where I needed to be. I graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. This was just the beginning of my education journey. Since graduating, I have moved to Colorado in order to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. That goal was obtained in 2018. Since then I have been working as a psychiatric registered nurse for the past three years and am currently pursuing a Master's of Nursing to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. In addition to my full-time job and educational pursuit, I am a clinical instructor for undergraduate students during their mental health courses. I truly love teaching and passing on my knowledge and skills to the next generation of nurses. It is my dream to one day work for the Department of Veteran Affairs as a psychiatric nurse practitioner where I will be able to continue to contribute to our country. Until this dream comes to fruition, I will be starting my psychiatric nurse practitioner journey in Arkansas.
