With many thanks to Ian Dinwiddie at A&O 20 something years ago I had the opportunity to develop a unique role as "liaison" between IT and Finance. Through this role I have covered many aspects of the elite billing and accounts payable systems, being involved both in implementation, training and background programming.During my time at B&M the standard of financial reporting has increased with the improved use of Business Objects, Crystal, Monarch and good old sql statements.We now do status reporting after introducing task code billing and later phase matter billing to more carefully monitor all budgets but inparticular Out of Scope. This has been a great success with many clients who appreciate being kept up to speend with all aspects of our spending.CMIS is due to be replaced shortly with INTAPP for matter and client oening.We are bringing in SAP on 15th December and I am really excited by the opportunity to go to Chicago for a month prior to implementation.
