Joanna specializes in integrating community needs and environmental objectives, ensuring the sustainability of conservation initiatives.As Principal and Founder of JBO Conservation, she brings her passion for connecting with people and exploring the natural world to each project. She is adept at building trust and relationships across sectors, identifying critical challenges and opportunities, integrating science into decision-making, and catalyzing the formation of solutions.Joanna uses a flexible facilitation style, integrating techniques and principles from various network-building and facilitation theories to adapt to the needs of the group. She also provides experience in capacity-building and program development to help guide and carry out the strategies developed.Previously, Joanna served as the Director of Programs for the Chesapeake Conservancy and developed and ran an award-winning land conservation program in Savannah, GA for the Chatham County-Savannah Metropolitan Planning Commission. Joanna has a Masters of Environmental Management (Duke University) and a Bachelors of Science (University of Richmond).
