Joanna/Jo (PhD, MSc) is an experienced life sciences researcher and data scientist. She combines her background in biophysics and data science to deliver strong outcomes in the data analytics.In her current role, Jo leads several projects in proteomics in one of the most prestigous proteomics teams in Australia. She is a project lead for Masters and PhD students at University of Melbourne and empowers them to create a high-performance research and deliver meaningful and publishable data. Jo's multi-disciplinary education and work experience (maths, physics, chemistry, statistic, medical biochemistry, neurobiology, plant biochemistry) have wide applications across many sectors and are exceptionally valuable in large-scale change management and process improvement projects.Jo successfully secured several prestigious fundings recognised world-wide: EUreKa Ireland, Japan Society for Promotion in Science, University of Melbourne Collaborative Awards.Jo constantly learns new skills, in July 2022 she will graduate from Monash University Bootcamp, intensive course which improved her skills in Python, SQL, JavaScript (incl. D3 and Leaflet) and Machine Learning. She completed other courses in further advancing in use of interactive data visualization tools: Power BI, Tableau and Illustrator. Jo is an emotionally intelligent and passionate individual who often gets off the beaten track. With a growth mindset she believes that there is always room for improvement and learning.
