Joanna M. Snyder retired from the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California (Cal Poly) as an Emeritus Staff member in May 2012. Prior to her retirement, Ms. Snyder was the Director of Operations of the Collaborative Agent Design Research Center (CADRC) on the campus of Cal Poly.During Ms. Snyder’s career, she assumed increasing levels of responsibilities including Project Manager of one of thirteen DoD projects cited in a 2012 Congressional Budget Report as a positive example of a project that effectively fulfilled Core Business Mission Results. Through these experiences, Ms. Snyder collaborated with various client and user representatives (from General officer to dock workers) to ensure requirements and expectations were clearly understood, documented and completed within a defined budget. Equally important, Ms. Snyder mentored hundreds of student employees working at the CADRC. As a result, she keenly understands the privilege, inspiration and responsibility working with college students and fledgling professionals.Ms. Snyder authored multiple successful (funded) government work proposals, supporting budget justifications, technical specifications and statements of work that simultaneously fulfilled customer and contractor goals. Additionally, she has experience in grant writing as well as composing and assembling proposals for public research funding. Through this work, Ms. Snyder thoroughly understands the means to comply with multiple and often competing Industry, Federal and Defense of Defense requirements.Ms. Snyder earned her Bachelors of Science in Political Economy of Natural Resources from the University of California, Berkeley in 1984. To enhance her work experience, she took several units of Masters of Science course work in Computer Science from the California Polytechnic State University. Additionally, she earned the Department of Defense Information Assurance Security Officer (IASO) certification.
