Joanna ButtfieldBAppSc(OT)(Hons), BAJoanna Buttfield is the Founder & Clinical Director of Kid Sense Child Development, a private provider of Paediatric services for children with developmental challenges in their movement, play & learning. Joanna founded Kid Sense in 1998 after returning to South Australia in 1997 following specialist training in the USA. She recognised the unmet need for developmental services that focused on 'helping children overcome life's little challenges in movement, play and learning'. At the same time, Joanna created a professional development & training system to 'educate the educators' - the school, kindergarten and child care staff who play such an important role in the child's most formative years. As a result of Joanna's vision, the lives of thousands of South Australians have been positively impacted - many for life. The ‘ripple effect’ of her work reaches thousands more, as the daily lives of parents, siblings and the wider family, carers, teachers and friends are all impacted by the improvements made in a single child.Joanna's entrepreneurial efforts have been publically recognised: Kid Sense was awarded 2017 Telstra Small Business of South Australia Award and the 2018 Telstra Small and Succeeding Business of South Australia Award.
