With a grant from the National Park Service through the City of Frankfort, we are documenting the 1964 March on Frankfort led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Also in attendance, to name a few, were Jackie Robinson, Peter, Paul and Mary, Senator Georgia Davis Powers, and Kentucky State University choir director Dr. Carl Smith. We are creating oral history interviews with attendees that will be archived at the Louie B, Nunn Center for Oral History, and three PBS Learning Media films with lesson plans for educators to use in the classroom.

DLA Piper partners show these films to their global clients (Directors of Corporate Boards and Generals Counsel) to address legal issues in an entertaining and impactful way. The three films are titled “Internal Investigations,” “In A Flash” and “At What Cost?”. Managing Partner Stasia Kelly called these films a “game changer” for the way DLA Piper uses the films to work with their clients.

The Kentucky African American Heritage Commission, through the Kentucky Heritage Council, contracted with Joanna Hay Productions to produce lesson plans with accompanying media, on Kentucky's Black History, up to the Civil War. Researchers Le Datta Grimes, Ph.D. and Joanna Hay, and educational writer Judy Sizemore produced the lesson plans. Kentucky Educational Television (KET) has published the 12 units on the PBS Learning Media platform. The PBS Learning Media collection is called "Kentucky's Black History & Culture" and teachers and students in Kentucky and throughout the U.S. can access them for use in the classroom and beyond.

We researched, designed and fabricated the interpretation for the Visitor Experience inside Bourbon Pompeii at Buffalo Trace Distillery. We write, produced and directed two short films to show visitors inside Bourbon Pompeii: “Layers of History” and “Unearthing Bourbon Pompeii.” This is a significant archaeological site on the National Landmark Property Buffalo Trace Distillery.

The Joanna Hay Productions team researched, designed and produced the Visitor Experience and Interpretation inside the Old Taylor House at Buffalo Trace Distillery. This may be the oldest existing structure in Franklin County (1790s). Situated on the Kentucky River, “Riverside” was a farm residence and became a clinic and then a lab in the heart of the distillery. Buffalo Trace Distillery is a National Landmark Property.

I produced and directed this 30 minute documentary film “A Kentucky Treasure: A Center for All” from the in-depth oral history interviews in honor of the 30 year anniversary of the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts.

We created Horse Cave Stories from oral histories and historical research about the unique city of Horse Cave, Kentucky. We did an above ground tour and a below ground tour with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Park Service.

Organized and managed the technical team for the opening season of the new theater. Other services provided to the Grand Theatre were creating community support for the purchase and renovation of the Grand Theatre followed by fundraising and programming for the Season series and development of the educational programs.
