I work as a freelance editor and journalist, specialising in science. Publications I’ve written for include the Irish Times, the Guardian, the Irish Daily Mail, Irish Tatler, Women Mean Business and Dubliner magazine, and I've appeared as a pundit on BBC radio.From 2014-2021 I was deputy editor and then editor-in-chief of Horizon, the EU's online popular science magazine, where I led coverage of European science stories for the website, social media and newsletters. Under my leadership, readership more than doubled.I also contributed two chapters to the book: Silicon Dock: The Rise of Dublin as a Global Tech Hub, which was published in January 2015.

I worked in-house for the Irish Times as part of the online production to upload and publish the web version of the day’s newspaper.

I was responsible for the operations of Ethiopiaid in the UK, Sweden, Ireland and Australia which included shaping and executing strategy; managing relationships with projects in Ethiopia; overseeing Ethiopiaid country managers; and financial and operational reporting to trustees. I also led several monitoring & evaluation visits to Ethiopia.
