In this role, I am responsible for managing the training and quality assurance programmes.

My job involves coordinating training efforts within the company, and embedding best practice learning and teaching in face to face, distance, and blended modes. I have implemented a Learning Management System, and work to design materials for delivery in a range of modes, for both in-house staff members and partners in New Zealand and around the world.Projects I have worked on as Training Manager have included designing and performing needs analyses, creating individual learning plans, developing role-specific training materials and assessments, designing and facilitating induction programs, and implementing online learning libraries for staff.As a member of the Senior Management Team, I have been involved in helping implement a performance management system, creating and evaluating potential business projects, and implementing new programs.I also enjoy editing two monthly newsletters - one for internal staff, and one for our worldwide partners.

I taught on the Graduate Certificate in English as an Additional Language. (Advanced Spoken English and Advanced Written English)I was a Curriculum Leader in the Advanced English Programme, helping to improve the curriculum and assessments in our courses. I was involved in research into best practice in teaching and learning a second language, with a specialty in phonological acquisition.

Tutoring undergraduate linguistics

I taught on the BA (English as an Additional Language) programme and the Diploma in Language Teaching programme.I was responsible for the Invitation to Linguistics course and some teaching on other courses, including Varieties of English and Advanced Spoken English.

I was involved in fieldwork, researching the morphology of a minority language in Indonesia.

Teaching phonetics, language learning, syntax and morphology at SIL in Australia and New Zealand summer schools.
