I am a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with others; I enjoy achallenge and am enthusiastic about change.I have been employed in a wide range of different settings developing a number of skills I feelare transferable.During my previous employment and education, I have worked with people on a daily basisfrom a diverse range of backgrounds and nationalities, which has provided me with invaluableexperiences that I am eager to build upon.Whilst working as an ESOL teaching assistant, part of my job included assisting students withspecial disabilities. I really enjoyed helping each person with the individual support theyrequired including: money management, practical living skills, shopping, domestic skills andsocial skills in the community. This aspect of the job gave me great satisfaction to seepositive changes being implemented.Throughout my time in employment I have come across many situations where issues needto be dealt with in a professional and mature manner and I have had a number ofopportunities which have allowed me to use my own judgment and initiative. I have alwaysbeen flexible in my approach towards others, which has helped me to build relationships,which put people at ease.Whilst working as a Care and Support Worker, I have had the opportunity to become a keyworker for a service user diagnosed with Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.This has involved myself visiting the user three to four times a week being responsible for allnecessary additional responsibilities including: personal support for developing interactionswith family and friends, assisting with shopping and leisure/social activities in the localcommunity, helping with the transition of moving from living with family members into a newflat for independent living. It has been a rewarding experience working with this user byensuring the best possible personalised support has been given throughout my key workerduties.
