Both Simon and I started Optimum in September 1999, first as a partnership with another colleague and then in 2001 Simon and I took over the business and became a Ltd Company. At that time I was still working for Lloyds, had 2 babies and another on the way so my time on Optimum was spent most evenings logging all Supplier invoices, paying subby wages, completing subby tax vouchers etc. Once I left Lloyds I was able to complete all Optimum admin duties during the day. I was lucky with childcare as my sister and I would work alternate days so that we could look after eachother's children. 5 kids under the age of 4 was not an easy task! As Optimum grew we had to employ more members of staff (my sister being one of them) and the day to day tasks have gradually been taken off me. I currently work 3 days per week mainly overseeing admin, sales and retention.

I first started working on the Estates Department at Bank House, Wine Street as an Admin Assistant. I then moved to the Tax Department where I became a typist/secretary. This department was then relocated to Exeter so I moved to Lloyds Private Banking in Clifton, Bristol. I continued as a Secretary until the time I became part time (due to starting a family and starting our own business) when I went back to being an Admin Assistant.
