I am responsible for managing a Young peoples respite unit ensuring the care that is provided to sick or disadvantaged children is in line with the Shanari wellbeing indicators, but ultimately meeting their own personal outcomes for their stay.

Scotland

I am responsible for co-ordinating, supporting, delivering and developing the continuing Circles Network Services in Scotland and Ireland. I aim to ensure all services are maintaining a high quality of service provision, whilst also making sure the ethos of the organisation and its values and beliefs are upheld at all times. I maintain links with other voluntary, statutory and independent agencies and individual practitioners, working collaboratively towards improved inclusion, whilst also understanding their field expertise in order that individuals can be introduced and have access to appropriate and holistic support as required. I facilitate a range of training which includes Person Centred Planning, Circles of Support and other topics related to Inclusion. I have responsibility for the strategic development of Circles Network. To actively promote and seek new opportunities to expand the work of the organisation and knowledge of inclusion and contribute to the communication and planning processes within the Network through meetings, planning groups etc.

I was responsible for establishing and developing a new model of service for young adults between the ages of 16 and 25 in transition to adulthood. The project covered three local authority areas with a staff team of 8.5 FTE and 52 volunteer peer mentors supporting 32 young people throughout Ayrshire. This required a high level of skills in time and people management and logistics. I was also successful in securing and maximising resources and took the project to a new level: providing training and consultancy to agencies throughout Scotland interested in adopting the Fairway model of service. From August 2008 until I left in July 2011, my role was to manage both the Fairway Champion whilst continuing, to oversee the core project. I delivered high standards of care and support gaining a Care Commission grade of 2 x 6 + 2 x 5.

Symington

Managing the day to day running of five community services to National Care Standards, managing more than twenty staff providing support for nine service users, all requiring 24/7 care packages. I was responsible for the training and development of staff in the area of key working, support and documenting to the key standard required whilst ensuring they understood their aims and objectives. I was also responsible for Health and Safety and drawing up risk assessment where required.
