I am a qualified and registered Highly Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist and Sensory Integration Practitioner, and I am the founder of Joanne Harries Consultancy. My clinical expertise lies in working with children, adolescents, and young adults who have diagnoses of Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD, Dyspraxia, learning difficulties, developmental delays, and other related or undiagnosed conditions. I have extensive experience addressing handwriting difficulties, sensory integration challenges, and developmental delays, as well as managing challenging behaviours.Throughout my career, I have received specialised training in key areas, including ADOS-2, Interoception, Handwriting Without Tears (HWT), Astronaut Therapy, Sensory Integration Levels 2/3, LEGO-Based Therapy, Advanced Assessment of Praxis, and Developmental Coordination Disorder.In addition to my clinical work, I have worked as an expert witness within the SEN Tribunal process and have many years of experience in this field. I have delivered training to individuals and groups, including presenting seminars to over 500 attendees. I have also served on expert panels, providing leadership in Occupational Therapy, particularly within the field of ASD.My experience includes setting up Occupational Therapy teams and services in schools, private clinics, and hospitals. Most recently, I served as the Strategic OT Lead at a specialist academy, where I developed and streamlined their service offerings to students. Previously, I was promoted to Clinical Director at Seirrah Therapies.As I continue to build Joanne Harries Consultancy, my focus is on expanding my portfolio of school-based OT provision audits and supporting schools in developing strategies that not only meet the needs of their students but also ensure statutory compliance.I am deeply passionate about Occupational Therapy, business development, leadership, and achieving the best outcomes for children and young people.On a personal note, I am a wife to a devoted husband, a mother of three girls (aged 11 months, 11 years, and 16 years), and we share our home with several beloved pets, including rabbits and two Boxer dogs.
