A little known fact, I self-designed my degree in Corporate Communications. In college, I had this idea on what my future in that field would look like. Guess what? I was way wrong. Looking back on a career that includes work with two major utility companies, two non-profits, a corporate newspaper and two universities; I am in awe, amazed and appreciative. None of those were my intended starts or stops on my journey. However these careers, my degree; and my subsequent degree after, equipped me with the tools I needed to understand that my love for my field of study runs deep. So, for the last 20 years I've focused on sales. Yep, the dreaded "s" word. Starting out, a supervisor told me, "Sales is about ideas and solutions." From that moment on I harnessed my love for ideas and solutions and worked with large and small businesses to design advertising campaigns that worked to increase brand awareness and client conversion. Ideas and solutions, built on wonderful businesses relationships and trust. Over the years, I've learned more about design, analytics and multi-channel marketing that I could've ever imagined. I've established great business partners and appreciate their struggles because I listened. The path was never intended but I am grateful for the opportunity to learn every single day. Communicating is about all of these things: listening, ideas, solutions, conversations, relationships and trust. I love what I do!
