A fast paced front of house role with interactions across all areas of the business including, finance, admissions, student services, reservations, conferences, events, maintenance, housekeeping and food services.

MMG is a mid tier mining company with operations in diverse locations across Australia, Africa and the Americas. Geoscience and discovery team members spend a significant amount of time working in remote locations and require a high level of administrative support to effectively manage travel arrangements. I worked closely with the Executive Assistant to the department Head, ensuring all administrative requirements were completed to the highest possible standard. Accuracy and concise communication skills were critical in this role.

With over 9,000 employees Asciano was Australia’s largest combined rail and cargo ports operator. In late 2016 the company went through an acquisition and divestment process, with the corporate functions now supporting the rail business Pacific National, retaining over 4,000 employees. In addition to traditional Reception duties, I was providing administrative assistance to the Human Resources Department and National Property Manger.

I initially joined Asciano in a Temporary role, assisting with urgent data entry for the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) team. The RTO team were working to a tight deadline in order to complete Recognised Prior Leaning Assessments for approximately 1,800 eligible staff. I was quickly able to add value to the project by streamlining the data entry process and developing concise reporting tools in Excel.

In my role at TNT I provided direct assistance to the Southern Regional Director who was responsible for approximately 1,500 staff at many locations across Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. Acting as a key point of contact for all areas within the business, I worked extensively with country and metro depot managers, as well as fleet and operations managers.

McDermott Australia had been engaged by Esso to carry out the design, procurement and construction of a large oil and gas project in Bass Strait. My role was to support the Operations Manager and Marine team working on the project.

In my role at Arup I provided assistance to the Office Leader who was responsible for approximately 350 staff in several locations across Melbourne. As part of a large global professional services firm I was required to drive and support many internal initiatives in addition to high level business development and project work.

In my previous role at Arup I reported directly to the leadership group of one specialty within the firm, assisting in the management and coordination of all aspects of the group within Australasia including, finance, marketing, business planning, recruitment and training.

Acting as the Personal Assistant to a Senior Partner and team of 13 accountants then to two Senior Partners and a team of 5 accountants, I undertook the following responsibilities:• Extensive hands-on coordination and management for Senior Partners including, diary management, email and other correspondence, assisting with client enquiries, co-ordination of client meetings, bookings and appointments on behalf of Partner.• Handling incoming and outgoing mail, composing and transcribing of correspondence from dictaphone or notes, answering and screening calls, maintaining client databases, invoicing and ongoing follow-up of Aged Debtors and debt collection when necessary.
