My legal career has focused on labour, employment, human rights, administrative and constitutional law. I have particular expertise in collective bargaining, unfair labour practice complaints, grievance arbitration, workplace accommodations, discipline/terminations, human rights compliance and drafting workplace policies. In addition to practicing in both private and public sector environments, I have published several papers in academic legal journals pertaining to these issues. Prior to attending law school, my career and academic studies focused on policy analysis, research and evaluation, with a particular interest in issues facing the non-profit and charitable sector in Canada. Some issues I have researched include funding diversification, impact measurement, the emergence of What Works Centres, the involvement of registered charities in policy advocacy and the modernization of board governance. I occasionally have capacity for policy research and consulting projects on various social and economic policy issues, including affordable housing and homelessness, poverty reduction, early childhood education, immigration and the care economy.
