As a creative, I am in a fortunate position that I truly enjoy what I do. During my 15 years of design I have worked in varied environments from hospitality to pharmaceuticals, and have a passion for delivering innovative high-impact visuals which speak to target audiences. Consequently, I have developed a diverse skill set and the ability to adapt in various office environments. With my specialization in creating fresh, relevant and aesthetically appealing artwork, I take immense pride in my craft. My career journey learning from professionals in various fields has granted me opportunities to grow and hone my design, technical and administration skills substantially. Being committed to ongoing learning and development, I would say that my freelancing projects over the years have also been instrumental keeping up with trends and software innovations. Despite being an introvert in the people-oriented field of marketing, I've found that authenticity and valuing workplace diversity bridge the gap and makes me particularly adept at building professional relationships with clients. I thrive in collaborative working environments where I can bring value to the team and contribute to project success. In terms of leadership skills, I am comfortable with guiding a team and running with a project. Notable projects I have taken the lead on over the years have ranged from large scale casino promotions, to corporate social initiative awards, to launches of new treatments by some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. I am keen to leverage my vast design experience, creativity, and solution-oriented approach in future roles, aiming to contribute substantially to project and team successes. My portfolio is comprised of selected works intended to be a snapshot to show my creative skills and range, and can be viewed at joannegilau.com/portfolio
