The YWCA Sheriff King Home that provides emergency shelter for abused women and their children. I provided individuals assistance with counselling, advocacy for housing, liaising with third party support organisations. I was trained in programs to further understand the cycle of domestic violence, including stalker assessment training and applied suicide intervention skills training. I worked in the Front Line Office assisting the women staying within the shelter, developing relationships with other support organisations, and working on the 24-hour crisis line. Because only 4 of 38 beds are reserved for single ladies; much of my experience was working with women with children. A high percentage of these women were Indigenous or migrants.

Post Care Services, developed from a recommendation from the Mullighan Inquiry, provided services for adults who were in Sate or Out of Home Care as children. I provided referral, information, advocacy, and support services to the clients, as well as assisting with the consumer reference group and group counselling
