As the director of Mediation Institute I am on a mission to support the training and ongoing professional development of mediators, family dispute resolution practitioners and family group conference facilitators. We are a large Recognised Mediator Accreditation Body (RMAB) and specialist training provider at the Graduate Diploma level working with entry-level and the highest skilled of all mediators to ensure that they provide ethical, client-focused and competent services for our communities in Australia. Mi Vision for Australia is that we could be a country where mediation is always the first choice, most disputes are resolved quickly and without abuse or escalation through the use of mediation services, and that every major town or suburb has a number of dispute resolution professionals providing mediation and related services as the go-to people rather than adversarial legal professionals. I am also passionate about the need to adopt technology to improve access to quality training and support for professionals in a country as large as Australia. We use eLearning blended with video meeting technology for skills development where we can and eLearning and workshops where they are essential for learning outcomes. We won the 2014 eLearning Excellence Award - Vocational Education and Training category against large TAFE's and RTOs due to our use of eLearning as a tool not an end in itself. The outcome is well-educated, confident graduates. Our VET courses are delivered in partnership with the RTO Inspiritive 21178 and at the moment is mainly focused on the CHC81115 - Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution. As CEO of Interact Support I am working strategically and tactically to develop and implement programs that help families to resolve their disputes and conflict without violence. Our goals are to prevent the harm children experience from exposure to ongoing family conflict and help their mothers and fathers to reach accord in their co-parenting relationships. My private Family Dispute Resolution services were delivered through Kenna Law. I also provided support for Kenna Law's clients in court and through anger management and other training and coaching services.

I help people to reduce and resolve conflict through Mediation and Family Dispute Resolution. My approach is to empower people to make decisions about their own lives to resolve the issues that are keeping them locked in conflict with others. I provide private Family Dispute Resolution and other forms of Mediation as a stand alone process or in conjunction with lawyer assisted mediation. Conflict can be just a part of establishing a new way of communicating and relating if handled with empathy, understanding and a lack of judgement. I'm now collaborating with others to achieve my mission through Interact Support. My mission is to reduce and resolve conflict and I've discovered that many of the people who become entrenched in conflict do so because their choices in how to get their needs met are limited by limitations in their life skills. We can blame the education system, the challenges of coming from a culturally or linguistically diverse background or parents but ultimately blame is a dis-empowering state. My focus is on providing training and coaching that empowers my clients to develop their life skills meaning they are more able to resolve the conflict in their lives without resorting to or becoming victims of violence or coercion. My focus is on the big five life skills - Problem Solving, Creativity, Communication, Emotional Control and Self Awareness. I run programs in Anger Management, Behaviour Change and other topics for people who are at a point in their lives where they realise that what they've been doing up to now just isn't working for them anymore.

The SIRF Operational Excellence Roundtable supports peer to peer learning through our many roundtable events as well as more formal training including certification in Competitive Manufacturing and Root Cause Analysis. LEAN Rt is part of SIRF Roundtables and provides training in lean Competitive Manufacturing as either a Certificate IV Government funded training program or as customised short course training services. As general manager my role included business development and managing delivery of our services. The role included working with the leadership teams to align the training as closely as possible to their strategic objectives.
