I was recognized with many awards for reporting, including several honoring women in journalism.

News Anchor And ReporterWqdr-Fm Radio Oct 1979 - Jul 1982Raleigh, NcWQDR-FM, whose call letters stood for "Quad Rock," was one of the original Album-Oriented Rock radio stations on the FM band. The rebellious sister station of WPTF-AM, WQDR built a loyal audience of rock music fans and was active in the local music scene. The stations were owned by Durham Life Broadcasting, and since have become part of Curtis Media Group. WQDR is now a country music station.I was the morning news anchor, and covered news stories for both WQDR and WPTF. The WQDR documentary "Our Forgotten Warriors: Vietnam Veterans Face the Challenges of the 80's" won the George Foster Peabody award for public service.
