During his professional journey, João worked for Asda'a-BCW as an Executive Vice President, Weber Shandwick as a Director, Mckinsey as a Comms specialist, the Portuguese Government as a deputy to the Secretary of State in the Cabinet of the Prime Minister. Before joining the Portuguese Government, João was an entrepreneur and launched Artcandle, a successful venture with a unique patented process. Prior to that João was the head of Marketing and Communication department and a board member of Printer Portuguesa, at the time part of Arvato and a Bertelsmann Company.At JLM&Associados João was a senior communication consultant specialised in communication strategy and crisis communication. He worked a wide range of industries such as pharmaceutical, health, aviation, advertising and oil and gas. João holds a five-year degree in organizational psychology, equivalent to BsC plus MsC, from Universidade Lusíada and a postgraduate in Marketing and business communication, also from Universidade Lusíada.João was a Rugby player and was two times Portuguese National Champion having played for the under 16 and under 19 Portuguese National Team, where he played the under 19 World Cup, and the under 21 teams. He was also, for two times, volunteered in Mozambique for periods of 3 months.
