At Bosch Car Multimedia I had the opportunity to join the mechanical development team responsible for the Combiner Head Up Display (C-HUD) for Ford Motor Company. I had an international assignment at Robert Bosch Car Multimedia in Leonberg, Stuttgart for 9 months and after I continued working for this project at Braga Plant, where the production line was being prepared for the unit assembly.While I was working for Bosch Car Multimedia, my main tasks were:- Plastic components development (3D using CATIAV5)- Prepare drawings for quotation (2D using CATIAV5)- Implementation of GD&T in technical drawings- Tolerances Analysis- Dimensional report analysis- Participation in design reviews- CAD model preparation/simplification for FEM simulation- Contact with purchasing and supplier for technical discussions- Contact with customer for technical discussions- Support process engineering (manufacturing plant)- Creation of Bill of Materials (BOM) for manufacturing plant- SAP basic knowledge- Follow-up and tracking, with the injection moulding suppliers and tool makers, the development of the tools- Attend tool trials to assess the status of the components/tools and quality of plastic parts- Support Quality Department to ensure that the plastic parts are delivered to Bosch plant in the desired quality according to specifications- Support suppliers, purchasing and project management for PPAP approval- Provide technical support to the production line in order to fulfil the established objectives- Provide technical support to Metrology Department for parts measurement (drawing interpretation and part functions)- Provide team support for tasks allocation and part history/background
