With a background in Computer Engineering with a focus on industrial automation and oil/gas plant processes, João Teixeira graduated from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. He holds master's and doctorate degrees in Electrical Engineering from the same university and has been a tenured professor at the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN) since 2014.
