As the South America Team Leader & Global Coordinator at Incarceration Nations Network (INN), João manages regional partnerships, supports national and local efforts of INN’s more than 126 partners across the world, and supports INN's grant writing efforts. João is involved with INN’s Education Not Incarceration global initiative, with Brazil as one of its focus, and with the 2024 Global Freedom Fellowship in South Africa.

Responsible for supporting multiple projects, such as the Global Freedom Fellowship, the monthly newsletter, and The Writing on The Wall. I am also directly responsible for managing the relationship of INN with its partners in Brazil and developing and implementing multiple projects in the country and in Latin America.

Committed to transnational solidarity and intersectionality, INN is working toward a world without prisons and ensuring that those directly impacted by the justice system lead the way to its radical reimagining.As a Research and Logistics Assistant, I worked on projects such as the global Writing on the Wall, The Writing on the Wall as Enterprise, the Global Freedom Fellowship, and event planning. I was also responsible for outreaching and communicating with partners around the world.

Comme Intervenant chez GRIP je suis appelée à intervenir dans nos différents services de prévention et promotion de la santé, d’interversion de proximité et d’accompagnement psychosocial. Je suis responsable pour accueillir, écouter, et intervir auprès des personnes vivant de l’anxiété, un bad trip ou une expérience difficile en milieu festif. Aussi de refermer au service du GRIP ou aux services externes et de distribuer le material de prévention et de réduction de méfaits.Le GRIP est, depuis 25 ans, le seul organisme au Québec à avoir pour mission principale d’offrir des services de proximité spécifiquement adaptés aux besoins des personnes utilisatrices de drogues (PUD) qui fréquentent les milieux festifs, tant populaires que underground. Nous offrons un continuum de services allant de la prévention, en passant par la réduction des risques et la maximimisation des plaisirs, à l’accompagnement lors de situations de consommation difficiles.

En tant que coordinateur à la sensibilisation et aux événements, je suis chargé de contacter et de mettre en relation VoxCann avec les écoles, les CEGEP et d'autres organisations au Québec, afin d’informer et de promouvoir l’éducation sur le cannabis auprès des jeunes de la province.VoxCann est une initiative pédagogique d’éducation à propos du cannabis. Notre mission est de créer une plateforme bilingue d’éducation sur le cannabis basée sur des données probantes permettant ainsi aux jeunes de s’engager et d’avoir un mot à dire sur leur propre apprentissage.

It is the only training in the world specifically dedicated to building the capacity and skills of human rights educators. The program brings together more than 100 human rights workers and educators from all around the world to build together and learn.
