João Caetano is an industry veteran with 20+ years of experience. He has worked for agencies like TBWA, Y&R (now VML), JWT (now VML), The Community, Leo Burnett and Grey. He was also a founding member and led the launch of EnergyBBDO in Brazil, which he helped grow from 3 to 50+ people, working for clients like Ford, Bayer, and Unilever’s Rexona among others. Over the course of his career, he’s made integrated work as a multidisciplinary copywriter, creative director and executive creative director for a variety of global and local brands, such as Fiat, Audi, Volvo, Hemoba, Uber, Visa, Nubank, Bradesco, Schin Beer, Apple, Carrefour, The Coca-Cola Company, and P&G to name a few. He has been chosen 30under30 by Meio&Mensagem, and was the creator of Cria da Quebrada, a free creativity program exclusive for black students. João has collected all the main industry awards out there, including 20 Cannes Lions, D&AD, One Show, Clios, Andys, LIAs, AICPs, New York Festivals, Fiap, El Ojo de Iberoamerica, and multiple Golds, Silvers, Bronzes and Green Stars at the Brazilian Creative Club. His work has won 17 Grand Prix so far, and has been published by Contagious, Archive, Shots and Directory. He has also served as jury member at national and international awards like Andy’s, El Sol, El Ojo de Iberoamerica, Brazilian Creative Club and ABP. In 2013, he was ranked the 6th most awarded copywriter in the world, according to Advertising Age and 5th at the Cannes Awards Report. “My blood is red and black”, one of his campaigns, ranked #1 in the Gunn Report and is part of NY’s MOMA permanent collection.He's currently Group Creative Director at Wieden+Kennedy.
