I'm building a biomarker pipeline that will allow us to interrogate RNA-sequencing data in the search for new non-invasive, fast and reliable biomarkers in body fluids. Our pipeline is capable of taking liquid samples of any kind (patients and controls) and produces a list of potential biomarkers for the diagnosis of the condition. We're using it in the generating of a diagnostic kit for Coronary Artery Disease and Gastric Cancer.

During my work at the CRG, under the supervision of Professor Roderic Guigó at the Bioinformatics and Genomics department, I studied the connections between chromatin and splicing.We used next-generation sequencing (NGS) and all the most recent genomics tools available to characterize the transcriptome and epigenome of cells and tissues. Using a statistical framework we analyzed the relationship between them.

As part of my university degree I had the opportunity of being involved in a research project under the supervision of Professor João Pedro Magalhães & Professor George Church at the Genetics department from Harvard Medical School.We studied aging in rodents and its relation with gene expression.
