I joined the Army in October 2015. After 17 weeks of military training, I started my activity in the Human Resources Department of the Portuguese Army as an Officer in the Marketing and Advertising area. Here, one of my main functions was the implementation of the institution's Social Media strategy, dedicated to the recruitment of new staff.Together with my team, I implemented Digital Marketing solutions at a time when the institution did not have an official digital presence beyond the website.Reported directly to the Head of the Image, Communication and Marketing Section.Some activities carried out:• Development and implementation of Social Media strategy• Definition of objectives for Social Media (brand/product awareness, user education and engagement)• Implementation of digital channels (Facebook Messenger, Instagram Direct Message and WhatsApp) to provide support to candidates, in collaboration with the Support Team• Constant updating of the entire Social Media and Ads ecosystem in order to ensure best practices and levels of innovation• Definition of the target audience and identification of their behaviors/preferences• Identification of the public's "pains" to make improvements• Metric analysis and use of this data to optimize activities• Paid traffic management through Social Ads (Meta Ads) - cold, warm and hot traffic / retargeting / lookalike audiences / A|B tests• Monitoring the budget and performance of Social Media ads• Creation of high converting landing pages• Attracting qualified leads• Content creation oriented to the target audience (Social Media, Website and Mobile App)A very enriching experience, which allowed me to help the institution to fulfill its goals and, in a more personal aspect, to obtain skills in the world of Digital Marketing.
