Thirst Project Portugal is a non-profit organization with the goal of bringing clean water to communities around the world where immediate access is not yet possible. It works with the help of young people across the country who want to help make this change happen. The truth is that over 663 million people still don't have access to pure, clean water every day, and we want to see an end to the world's water crisis.It was founded in 2008, in the United States of America, and officially brought to Portugal in 2019, where it already has teams of young people in schools and colleges from north to south of the country (passing through the islands!); and where it organizes various events to raise funds and awareness. Thirst Project builds boreholes for drinking water in developing countries so that women and children who used to walk 6 to 8 hours every day to the nearest waterhole no longer have to do so and can contribute economically to their community or go to school. With a board of 15 members and a core team of 72, joined by thousands of young people in schools and colleges across the country, Thirst Project Portugal is moving to put an end to the world water crisis.
