On an early point of my career a former manager asked me if I knew the story of when the USA president John F. Kennedy was visiting for the first time the NASA headquarters in 1961. I was wondering why would he ask me that on that specific time, so I said no. While touring the facility, JFK introduced himself to a janitor who was mopping the floor and asked him what he did at NASA. “I’m helping put a man on the moon!” — The janitor The janitor got it. He understood the vision, his part in it, and he had purpose. The same way the janitor knew he had a purpose that would help the vision, I had it also as a waiter and my former boss have seen that in me. And since then I have been passing that same passion and sense of purpose to my teams, the spirit of commitment that can bring so many benefits to both parties. Helping people is my passion, I am driven by development, only by constantly developing myself and my teams that I’ll be able to achieve that vision, mine and/or the institution are aiming for.
