In command of 130 people:• Planned and coordinated the Military Academy Admission course (280 candidates). In command of 16 experienced officers and sergeants.• Keep a strong teamwork spirit • Planning, teaching and conducting general military training • Planning Physical training sessions• Planning Field training exercise• Coordination with external entities

• Planning and conducting infrastructure maintenance works • Manage and advise budget application on maintenance works• Conducting infrastructure surveys

• Planning and executing experimental tests in the laboratory and real-scale• Performing calculations and analysis regarding blast loadings and high-velocity impacts on buildings• Planning courses, conferences, workshops and seminars• Conducting research • Trainer in courses: blast loadings and high-velocity impacts• Participation and collaboration in research projects (national and international)• Coordinating master´s thesis• Draft and develop the Implementation Plans. Responsibilities include the development of Training Programmes and Activities to enhance specific capabilities, the development and execution of Acquisition Plans, supporting the scripting of operational requirements and technical specifications, and managing information in the Enterprise Project Management (EPM) software/platform

In this role, my day-to-day work involved the following:• Second in command: 80 people• Planning and execution of field national and international exercises: combined arms training• Responsible of logistics and maintenance planning • Security and safety officer• Conducting General Engineering Support to civil operations, which were conducted on schedule and within budget, with high proficiency standards. Deploying engineering task forces (equipment, vehicles and people)• Human resources management• Member of project team – development and implementation of engineering capacities (equipment and tactics) NSPA• Planning, executing and supervising the demolition of 2 watchtowers (15 meters in height)

During the course, I wrote papers, delivered presentations and led syndicates on the conduct of the tactical level (Brigade and below) decision-making process. The Captain’s Career Course is composed of an initial combined arms part, during which I engaged daily in teamwork syndicates where the sharing of experiences and knowledge from the combined arms environment developed a deeper understanding of the planning considerations from the different fields of the domain of a military operation. By overcoming these challenges, I recognised even more strongly the need to have a better cooperative and collaborative approach to all fields of activity, either in the military decision process or in doctrine and policy development, project management, etc.The second part of the Course is dedicated to the Military Engineering Support to operations, where we performed company commander and tactical level staff officer duties in the fields of Combat Engineering, General Support Engineering (including Force Protection Engineering), Bridging, CBRN, EOD and C-IED. Achievement: Further developed the skills of teamwork and communication, particularly within an audience educated in other fields of expertise. Improved staffing, time management and critical thinking in the conceptual realm. Improved technical skills in the broad military engineering fields, including CBRN Defense. Ranked in top students of the Course.

In command of a team of around 30 men and women, I was responsible for the maintenance, training and execution of military engineering operations. As a junior Lieutenant, most of my time was dedicated to planning and conducting general military training and specific technical training for Combat Engineers. It was during this time that I developed my initial leadership and communication skills. During this time, I also experienced a high motivation that determined and committed to transferring technical and personal skills to others can bring.Achievements: The trainees, soldiers, sergeants and non-commissioned officers acknowledged my commitment to developing their skills, maintaining both high standards of exigence and a good teamwork environment.
