He’s responsible for supervising an installation and support team in Angola. Provides the technical survey of the customer, defining technical requisites and solutions in order to adapt the software to the customer needs. This involves a variety of interactions with an ecosystem of IT related solutions providers from hardware and software to networking and telecommunications. As of his coming to Angola he gets involved in a special project with the Angolan Minister of Industry, Geology and Mines concerning the design, development and support of a software solution for managing industrial licences workflow. The project goes live in 2009 and is now being expanded to all 18 provincial governments. As a part of this project he’s frequently requested to work as a BI consultant.

Hired with the mission of designing, developing and supporting an ERP package for Unix running on Informix DBMS, he contracts and leads a team of 11 persons.In early 1995, he does his first successful live deployment of the package. In the coming years he’s directly responsible for more than 50 successful installations in Portugal, Spain and Angola.Late 1998 he’s invited to join the company as a partner.Originally designed for System V proprietary Unixes (SCO, AIX) and character interfaces he drives the ERP move to mainstream open source operating systems (Linux) with graphical presentation (moving from Informix 4GL to Fourj’s BDS) and integration with MS Office suite. He continually strives to seek solutions for better software integration and does several contributions to improve software usability and customer satisfaction.It is also part of his duties the exercise of consulting services and functional analysis. He has been involved in various projects of functional analysis and consultancy in Portugal, Spain and Angola.As a result of the company's expansion to Angola, makes his first work in this country in 2001 where he leads a team with the purpose of installing and customizing the software to the Angolan market.In 2005 the company opens a branch in Luanda, and due to the increase of business in Angola, as of 2008 he permanently moves there.

He’s contracted to take part on a team whose purpose is to develop and support a software package for managing a Customs Brokers office.The software was deployed on Unix platforms using primal Informix products and “C”.Along the years he becomes proficient in administering Unix systems and acquires deep knowledge of “C” programming language and shell scripting.He is introduced to communications and network protocols (X.25, TCP/IP) and various Unix administration tools from different OEM.In 1990 he becomes product manager and assumes the responsibility for a team of 6 people who gave support to about 100 customers spread across Portugal. With the evolution of development tools he is the mentor of the software migration to new programming paradigms, namely Informix 4GL.He’s invited to join a working group whose mission is to develop an EDI solution with Customs of Portugal. The group successfully delivers the project.Due to frontier abolishment in the EU, custom brokers activity decline and he’s appointed account manager for Mota-Engil, a major Portuguese construction contractor. In this role he supervises the design and development of an outsourcing software project (running in SCO Unix and using Informix and Informix 4GL) concerning equipment management and maintenance, production and construction management. These applications are spread across several locations in Europe and Africa, giving support to the group operations.In the final stage at this company, he co-authors the design of a software package to control and manage utilities supply (water, electricity, waste disposal, etc) and boat yachting marina for Lusotur (subsidiary of the former Banco Português do Atlântico) owner of all land and infrastructure of Algarve’s resort village, Vilamoura.During he’s latest period at the company he also gives external training on Informix products (4GL, ESQL / C, SQL).
