Worked for one of the largest benefits broker companies in Canada as an Site Reliability Engineer. I had the following participation in the company's environment:* Responsible for translanting most of the client's manually provisioned AWS infrastructure into IaC (Infrastructure as Code) using CDKTF(Cloud Development Kit for Terraform) with TypeScript. I was able to deliver about 70% of the client's workload IaC'ed which will be used for a disaster recovery plan for the company. While I worked on this, I was also able to identify a lot of bottlenecks that needed to be automated for increasing reliability, security and productivity. For example, making sure that S3 and RDS Buckets are encrypted, preferably using custom KMS keys to allow cross-account backups. Creation of lambda functions to fill some gaps between services, like updating Route 53 records for specific services based on cloudtrail events. And improving observability on the critical workloads running in EC2 and EKS.
