Co-Founder & CtoGlio 2011 - 2018Taught myself to code and co-founded Glio, the first Y Combinator-backed company from Latin America, which raised $1.5M from top tier Silicon Valley investors, including Naval Ravikant and FundersClub.Glio started as a Yelp-like platform for the region. In 2015, we pivoted to a cosmetics and perfumes e-commerce marketplace, which transacted $4M in lifetime GMV with 45k customers.As co-founder & CTO, I ran product & engineering. I focused on connecting technology, design and business, having:- hired and managed 10+ talented engineers and designers, creating a culture based on data-driven decisions and honest feedback;- built tech that automatically created and bade on 100k+ Google and Facebook ads profitably;- created a self-serving customer support tool that enabled the company to process 5k orders per month without any customer support representatives while keeping NPS over 83;- assembled internal tools that automated most of the business tasks (e.g. pricing strategy, order monitoring), allowing our team to focus solely on closing 50+ sellers;- built an e-commerce platform that ran 100s of A/B tests on each customer (over 2k overall, from copy changes to different checkout flows), taking our conversion rate to an industry-leading 4% on desktop & 2.2% on mobile;- and, half the time, dived into the code myself (Ruby on Rails, Postgres, AWS, Javascript, Rspec). -
