Since I joined UPM through the Young Professionals Programme, I have grown and learned a lot, and now is the moment to go further. The new mill is the biggest project on UPM and Uruguay´s history, and I want to be part of it. I want to grow with it, learn from it and bring the best of my expertise in.Along these 13 years, I contributed to the continuous improvement of the woodhandling area, from optimizing the chipping process to improving the availability of the area, all of it with an excellent and multidisciplinary teamwork. I give support on stock management of chipper parts and was recently selected by the Management Team to attend the Supervisor Area trainee. Fortunately, I contribute in the knowledge of the new technician when they get into the wood yard area, not only in specific knowledge, but also in the values that the company preaches.During the last eight mill shutdowns, I have been in charge of planning and coordinating the operational works. We aim to give our best within the team and make things happen as planned. That is my goal, my responsibility,and I know preparation and coordination between the different actors is the key. On this sense, I could say soft skills are one of my strengths, but these are not enough when you want to aim higher. That is way I started Mechatronics Engineering. This career helped me to understand the production process from another perspective, from the mechanics, instrumentation, logic loops management and electrical part.
